Back to Business Grant Program
Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced on March 21, 2023, that $175 million is available in grant funding through the Back to Business (B2B) program. Following state recovery for businesses totaling nearly $1.5 billion, the latest American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) -funded opportunity is designed to provide additional support for the hardest-hit sectors, including restaurants (B2B Restaurants), hotels (B2B Hotels), and businesses or organizations in the creative arts sector (B2B Arts). To provide hands-on support and raise awareness about the program, the State has mobilized a network of more than 100 community navigators across Illinois.

HPCC Installs new Officers!
Caprice Lindsay of Hyde Park Bank has been elected board president and Bennie Currie of MBC Financial Strategies, has been elected vice-president of the HPCC board.
Lindsay takes over from Troy Ratliff, Hedspeth Art Consulting, who had served for two years as HPCC Board President. Currie replaces Lindsay in the vice president role.
Caprice Lindsay is the Business Development Officer, AVP for Hyde Park Bank a Wintrust Community Bank. A South Shore resident with over 20 years of both retail and commercial banking experience, she is an advocate for small businesses and families. Supporting the community as a resource to financial awareness and working alongside as a partner for local, for profit and non-profit organizations across the south side.
Additionally, Lindsay is also a board of trustee for Sunshine Enterprise, Black Women Professional League, and a resource for many local business owners.
Bennie Currie is the owner of MBC Financial Strategies and a certified practitioner of the Macro Asset Perspective®.
Currie moved to Hyde Park from St. Louis 32 years ago and has been an ardent volunteer ever since. In addition to serving on the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce board of directors, he is co-chair of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club board of directors and is the founder of CollaBOOration, an initiative he launched in 2019 to help build community while keeping the neighborhood safe on Halloween night.
Currie also chairs Go 4th Hyde Park, one of the advisory councils created by 4th Ward Alderman Sophia King. He serves on the 4th on 53rd Parade and Picnic organizing committee.
