WHAT: This year's Midnight Madness on 57th Street, scheduled for September 27, 2008 features live jazz music, special promotions and sales at local businesses as well as extended shopping and dining hours. This event coincides with the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.
WHY: Midnight Madness is an annual event to officially welcome new University of Chicago students and families to the Hyde Park community.
WHERE: 57th Street between Lake Park Avenue and Kimbark Avenue.
WHEN: Saturday, September 27, 2008. 10 PM - Midnight
HOW: Businesses will offer unique specials available only once a year for Midnight Madness; dim sum @ Noodles Etc., 50% off everything under $50 at Powell's if you wear a Powell's tee-shirt, half price haircuts at University Stylist and Spa, $1 slices of pizza at Medici Bakery and half price gelato at Istria Cafe.

All of the sponsoring organizations share a mutual objective of promoting Hyde Park as a destination.
